Cream together the brown sugar, shortening, and eggs.

Stir soda into sour milk

Sift baking powder, salt, and flour together.

Add milk and dry ingredients alternately to creamed mixture.

Drop by teaspoonsful onto greased cookie sheets.

Bake at 350° for 7–8 minutes.
